Prolong Your Holiday Cheer With Gifts That Keep On Giving

For those who love the holidays just as much as we do – don’t you ever feel like it’s over too soon? It’s almost as if the moment that last gift is pulled out from under the tree, Christmas itself comes to a screeching halt. You’re left with a mountain of wrapping paper to pick up and the dread of waiting a whole year to do it again. That’s exactly why we’ve outlined a few gift ideas that will keep on giving this holiday season!

Give Experiences

Material gifts are great, but often, the best gifts are memories and shared experiences. Think about it – how many of us still use, let alone remember, what we unwrapped at age seven? We can guarantee there’s not a lot.

Giving experiences not only saves you time and stress, it creates opportunities for bringing your family closer together. Here are five of our favorite non-toy experiences to give your kids this Christmas:

  • Zoo, museum, or theme park passes
  • Sports, music, or cooking lessons
  • Tickets to a movie or sporting event
  • A family trip or destination vacation
  • A “behind the scenes” experience (candy factory tour, backstage passes, etc.)

The “Not Now” Gift

Doesn’t it always seem like our kids have a running list of things they want for Christmas, and as soon as someone asks, they suddenly draw a blank? Your solution: the “not now” gift. Here’s how it works:

  • Give your kiddo an envelope with three “gift passes” inside, allowing them to choose what they’d like throughout the year. If they see something they want in July – it’s theirs!
  • Consider putting a monetary limit on each of the gift passes. You can make them each of equal value or do one large gift pass, medium gift pass, and so on.
  • Lastly, put an expiration date on the gift passes so they can ask for something else next Christmas!

Subscription Boxes

When it comes to gifts that keep on giving, it doesn’t get much better than subscription boxes. Not only do you get the joy of giving someone a gift on Christmas day – you can continue to remind them you care throughout the year! We’ve outlined some of the best subscription boxes for kids from My Subscription Addiction

  • KiwiCo Crates – Filled with hands-on activities and experiments for kids of all ages!
  • Kidpik – A clothing and styling subscription box for kids!
  • We Craft Box – One of the best craft subscription boxes for younger kids!
  • Amazon Prime Book Box – A simple book subscription box for kids!
  • Raddish Kids – A monthly cooking subscription for young chefs!

The Gift of Giving

Many would agree that the gift of giving does so much more for you than it does for the person on the receiving end. That is why this Christmas we are challenging you to pool together some of the money you would have spent on gifts for your family this year and use it to give something to someone in need.
